Liquids--The New Gold

I have been pontificating for a couple of years now about the impending fall of the American Empire.
At social gatherings, my friends await the dreaded predictable volley of missives from “Mount Marvin-Mouth” that like clockwork, are launched after being fueled by a prescribed daily minimum of two to three glasses of room temperature ruby Bordeaux. I become the instant “Moving Party”, the “IceBreaker”, the overstuffed “Coffee TableBook”, the roving“Conversation Piece”
I will save you the agony of personally experiencing my conjectural bluster by encapsulating the usual 5, 10 or 15 minute versions of my tirade.
I am sure all of you know me, because somewhere you have a friend like me, and depending on your region, have heard some version of what I’m about to tell you. The only difference being the “local interest content” preamble leading to the main body of the argument.
Maybe a bit of talk of corn, or mountains,or fishing to warm up the room before the tirade scatters the invitees to the sweet table or the stoic bartender.
Yes, I said argument, because as you well know, no matter how many times you have heard this from me or your friend, there always seems to be some “yutz” within earshot who hearing this “outburst” for the first time, actually believes that they have a hope in hell of besting the hometown favourite at his well rehearsed game! Now that’s entertainment! Like the car crash, everyone slows down to take a look, or in this case, a listen if even for a moment.

Anyways, you get the point, so here’s my quick take on the situation in a “hit list” of top twenty contentious points.

1. The USA under BushCo is the most hated country on the planet since the Cold War and Vietnam.
2. BushCo has shown through their actions, nothing but disdain for the World Community in a brash showing of “Our way or the highway” Idiocracy.
3. BushCo has shown through it’s “inaction” their total disregard for all things Environmental
4. Bushco has through lies and deception and a Corporate Agenda fueled by the PNAC doctrines, turned America into the most provocative and dangerous country on the planet
5. BushCo has turned America into the largest “Sub Prime” sucker on the planet. It can barely pay the interest only on it’s grossly overblown indebtedness to China.
6. BushCo has proven through it’s bullyism and pugnacious pre-emptive proclivity to be the most dangerous Terrorist on the planet.
7. BushCo has shown the World Community it’s total disrespect and disdain for the cornerstone of our alleged freedom, “Habeas Corpus”, by single handedly ripping it out of the heart of our Constitution. He may as well have vandalized the “Mona Lisa”, or dynamited Plymouth Rock.
8. BushCo “stole” both elections
9. BushCo has committed war crimes
10. BushCo has committed, treason and high crimes and misdemeanors
11. BushCo has committed perjury (Gonzales and Libby) and has brazenly lied to the UN (Colin Powell)
12. History will find BushCo of either being complicit or totally incompetent or inept, or all three, in the hideous attacks on NineEleven.
13. The Conclusion being that there will be a World Gathering against the good old US of A. The World will have had enough of our tantrums and antics and attack us in an outright War, or even worse, attack us where it really hurts—The Economy.
14. China has the Capital and wherewithal to do so, especially with the aid of Europe and Russia. We are NOT loved here, we are tolerated, and much like Israel in the Middle East, the unspoken feeling is that the World would be a much better place without us
15. –20…optional content from myself or your friend dependent on the social gathering or type of event and the availability and quantity of said alcoholic propellant.

So, I know that none of this is news to any of you informed individuals and that you could have just as easily recited in rhyme and verse most of the points listed above.
What is news to me and possibly you, is my epiphany of this morning hitting me square in my myopic third eye!
It’s not gold anymore! Gold is so sixties and seventies!
At this moment there really isn’t a WorldWide Conspiracy against America. That would just be the demented view of a paranoid schizophrenic wouldn’t it? Discussing Dubbya’s phychosis is not my intent here.
So what’s my point? I think I have missed the proverbial forest for the trees and that forest is in the form of vast fields of sand far away from here in the oil drenched domains of OPEC.
What I missed is the irony of our situation. Oil now, and water resources in the future will constitute the major wealth and power of a nation.
America has nowhere the gold reserve to back up it’s plummeting greenback.
BushCo fixed it’s avaricious gaze on the oil rich nations of Iraq, Afghanistan and soon enough, Iran.
This War for Oil, predicated on lies and unfound allegations is what will eventually bring us to our knees.
BushCo hadn’t counted amongst other things, that this bullshit war was going to be impossible to win both on the battlefield and now in the mean streets of Iraq.
BushCo hadn’t counted on bankrupting America!
So now, deeply and dangerously in debt to China, BushCo still lives under the delusion of a great and powerful America inhabiting a morbidly over budget Embassy in Iraq that will now only house an entity that is only a fraction of what it used to be and a far sobbing cry from what it falsely thinks it is! Hubris and of Shakesperian proportions at it’s best!
The irony?
Surrounded by OPEC rich nations in the region, namely Saudi Arabia, our staunch, faithful and ever so loyal ally, we learn to today that at the meeting of OPEC nations, spearheaded by the Saudis, that they are lobbying to use other currency as an alternative to the good old USA greenback!
China, now the the most succesful capitalistic country in the world and not even a democracy, now owns what was once, the most successful modern democracy!
OPEC, The most powerful oil cartel on the planet has lost the warm and fuzzies for Uncle Sam and very soon China and OPEC may bring BushCo and America along with it to it’s proverbial knees, leaving BushCo reduced to custodial services in that new vast lonely Baghdad embassy , because they no longer have the juice or the gold to play with the big boys anymore!
If the bully brat decides to have a tantrum and pose more threats, well the World will just have to slap it’s tush and send it to it’s room with no dinner or oil!
If BushCo keeps acting like it can do anything it wants in the face of a World that is well aware of our sinking ship, we might be “grounded”, rather than being helped or even worse!
The Oil Greed that started this sham war is coming back to bite The Fat Overfed BushCo Ass really hard and unfortunately as usual there will be serious collateral damage.
Our gold backup reserves if any, are dwindling. Our water resources are dangerously low and our misguided thirst searches for oil, not the sustenance of H2O.
Black Gold (Oil) and Water are the new gold, and as we all know, they can’t be mixed!!
The Bush Crime Family has selected oil as it's main priority.
But what happens when the need for oil is reduced or eliminated by new technologies and America is dying of thirst because the amassing of petro wealth was king? Supplies of safe drinking water will be the new gold. Nations that were forward thinking enough to embrace advanced water treatment technologies will dominate.
Wars will be fought over water.


I only hope that America will wake up before it’s too late and try to rebuild what was once a great experiment.
Firstly, we have to organize OUR priorities and NOT let BushCo or any NewCo make the choice for us, because if Katrina didn’t teach us how little “they” care about us, we’re probably as delusional as “they” are.
Their unending greed eclipses Freedom, Well Being, Morality and Global Awareness!
